Quite entertaining. I've done the same thing with some 2 1/4 negatives and they came out extremely well.

It'd be interesting to see if it beats the output of a scanner. Maybe I'll try it with the 1-5MPE. It doesn't seem to be very gentle on the negs, though. Perhaps taping a neg strip to a sheet of glass and using the camera on a tripod would work. I've shot microscope slides like that.

Hahaha I've been doing the same for years by shooting them on my light table. Brilliant with a coffee cup though! Gotta try that one!

I've been doing the same with the use of my old enlarger. You can get good results but it's to much hassle if you have something like 20000 negs to scan.
It is also not very friendly to your camera shutter life.

I tried that with a light table and one of my 4x5s in 2000 and it didn't work very well. Maybe the cameras are better now. Did you notice that at the beginning he had his film in the cup backwards?

I was wondering about that, is there a way of making Photoshop "see" the colours in a negative?

This guy has got nice results with a more normal slide copier (there's a link to see a full size 6mp version of a duplicated slide). http://www.scantips.com/es-1.html

My best selling image The B&W football was shot with a digital camera from a 16 x 16 print from med format on a copy stand.
