Hi Shutterstock Team and members, here are some ideas/suggestions for SS site. I'll post all ideas in this thread, so they don't get spread all over the forum.

1) Opt in/out
Each item should have a link (Help tooltip) explaining better the meaning of each one;

2) Expired images
Now a days I have no clue what images were expired to get to resubmit them. So, as a suggestion:
a. SS should send an email asking to click in a link if we intend to continue editing them, if not checked such link from the user within 2 days the images will really be removed;
b. SS should send an email likewise the email SS sends as “Status of your recently submitted images” with the table containing the ID, thumbnail and status (approved, rejected) and in this case would be EXPIRED. So, this way the contributor has how to know which images were expired and can resubmit them.
c. Or create a new tab on the side of “Rejected Photos” tab as “Expired Files”, so contributor would manage what files are needed to be resubmitted.
d. This 21 days should be increased depending on the amount of the files users batch. So, if a contributor has 7, it is enough, but if a contributor has 200, it is a different history.

3) CSV file for JPG files
SS would implement a CSV to images, with columns for keywords all fields in the regular form and ID# for MRs and PRs, so it would be much easier to assign model releases/properties and categories, upload and goes directly to the approval line instead of the content editor.

4) Editing images / unselecting or scrolling
When editing images, on the top where we have for example "9 of 40 selected < [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] [] .... >". It would be cool if we would have a switch like (contributor mode), but for th options "Unselect" or "Scroll". So, it switched to "Unselect" when we click on the thumbnail on the horizontal scroll on the top, it would unselect the image that was clicked and it get out of this list, or, if switched to "Scroll", when we click on the thumbnail on the horizontal scroll on the top, it would scroll the page to the selected image.

5) Shutter contributor top menu
The SS top menu IMHO is a little bit messy and to much spread info in separated menus of user stuffs and site stuffs. So, some example would have My files | My Finances | ..
into "My files" the sub menus: Upload image / Upload Footage / Upload Release / Edit image / Edit Footage / Manage Release ---- Status of submitted images / Status of submitted footage --- Catalog Manager, etc...

into "My finances" the sub menus: Download stats / Payment history / Referred Photographers / Delayed Earnings / tax center, etc..

Well, just an example, just contact me if you want more opinion on the tree structure. ;0)

6) Shutter Facebook / Twitter

When SS posts on FB or TW the post "I sold x images today through Shutterstock!", its link should send to a page with the all images sold and from there a link to the user portfolio. IMHO it doesn't make sense for my follower on twitter always they read "I sold x images today through Shutterstock!" goes to my portfolio. They have interest in knowing which images were sold that day as the text posted says.

7) Status of Submitted Photos / Batches Pending Approval and Rejected Photos tabs:
When clicking to "View All # Rejected Photos", it would shows as catalog or have an option to opt to show as the actual list ways or as a catalog (the regular portfolio search) with the search option too to get to search among the rejected files. It would help a lot to have our control and organize our back-end and avoid to resubmit files that where already sent and other kind of checks. The same kind of view/option should be implemented also for the "View All # Pending Photos";

8)Image loupe:
When looking into any portfolio and mousing over the thumbnails, the bigger images (image loupe) should show in its top the 'Tittle' (Header) and on the bottom (Footer) the image ID#, # of Views and # of Downloads. IMHO titles may help the buyers to understand some images, ideas, concepts, and so on.

9) Monthly Payment (URGENT REQUEST)
As a suggestion, the devolopers should add in the payment history, the info:
“Sutterstock is going to generate your payment of U$ xxxxx,xx within a week". Because when the money is to be paid and is taken out from our balance, we see nowhere which value was removed and what amount is in the queue to be paid.

So it should be a MUST HAVE to have such info in the PAYMENT HISTORY or in the earning summary within the MONTH that the money was taken out from the balance or create in the menu '" Earnings >" a PENDING PAYOUT list! Also, no email is also sent that such value is in the queue.

10) Submit images 40+ per Page

When submitting images, now a days we have a page that shows 0 of 40 images only, even if I have sent via FTP 200 files for example. As a need and suggestion, Shutter dev team should add an option to get to see the rest of the images such as changing pages or drop down list with the options show 40, 80, 160, all.

11) Earnings summary column:
I’d like to suggest to add a column “# of UPLOADS for all media” or better “# of approved images” in the Earnings Summary (Month statistic);

12) Help info for opt in/out:
For beginners, each item should have a link (question mark icon) and when mousing over or clicking on it, it would show a pop-up with a better explanation of each one opt in/out meaning at “Your Account”:.
Shutterstock (?) : Opt In ok
Partners (?): Opt Out
CD-A-Month (?) Service : Opt Out
Enhanced License (?) : Opt Out
Footage Sales (?): Opt Out
Footage Subscription Sales : Opt Out

13) Approval Status – Original file name:
in the “Approval Status” within the “All pending footage” list, each footage line should show the ORIGINAL FILE NAME of the uploaded file. In my case I don’t get to identify if by mistake if the FTP have uploaded twice the same file by mistake or was the other version, so if I had the original file name showing, I would know if the file is correct.

14) Earnings Summary - “By Year” stats:
In “Earnigs Summary” I don’t get to see statistics for annual. So, it would be cool to have a new tab “By Year” and in the dropdown list, would list all the years (2003, 2004,…2013) , so we would see an annual table with all months earnings side by side. Also would have an option in the list as “All years”, so it would list from 2003 to 2013+ earnings.

15) Status of your recently submitted images – Original file name:
in the email “Status of your recently submitted images” it should have a column with the ORIGINAL FILE NAME of the uploaded file. Would help a lot identifying images on members end.
