Good for you Shane. It's nice to have a tough goal like that and make it in a very good time for your first. Congrats.

Congrats Shane.

I haven't run a marathon yet but I run 5-9 miles, 4 times a week, sometimes every day.
At first people run to get their weight down but soon they realize there are a lot more reasons to keep running. I will never quit, this is my way out.

Alright, more runners here on SS? must be since everyone does it lately, except for Laurin of course.

good effort. I went for a run today. I don't much like running - and I am slow, but I like being in shape and I have aspirations for long endurance things like the Sierra Challenge, and running from time to time helps me prepare. Also I have visions of running the Grand Canyon rim to rim to rim someday.

My husband Geoff and I run ... he got started in 2005 and I followed in his footsteps (sometimes quite literally) in 2009. He will be running his first marathon this fall (http://www.nationalmssociety.org/chapters/mnm/fundraising-events/run-to-stop-ms/index.aspx) in Minneapolis, MN. I'll be there with camera in hand to document (and of course get editorial shots) as 5Ks are about the max for me right now :)
