Hello Comrades,

Its been a while since i visited this forum, and so i hope that my topic is not redundant.

I've been really frustrated lately with the way SS displays approved images: Once they approve an image, it disappears, and doesn't show up in 'newest' or 'Most Popular'. Then after a couple of days it shows up... BUT it appears as 'least popular' image (on the last page of my portfolio).

It didn't used to be this way. Every image used to show up in the 'newest' as soon as it got approved. Now, it appears 3 days after its been approved, and i get no sales, due to it being thrown straight to the last page.

Did anyone else experiences this? I feel like i'm loosing sales that i could have been making... not to mention that SS is not profiting from this also.

I wrote to SS Support about it, but i think they just replied to me with their standard response that it takes 72 hours for an image to show up.

If this is the case, then have it show up after 72 hours, but please place it with everyone's 'newest'...

This doesn't happen all the time, so i don't know what might be causing this inconsistency. But its really frustrating.

:/

Shutterstock is quite aware of the problem and you can imagine how frustrating it must be, since it's obviously not an easy problem to fix. This library is enormous with nearly 20 million images; writing code to deal with that size of a database has to be a nightmare.

Take heart, I'm selling images that aren't appearing in my port yet; I don't see them but somebody is, because I'm selling brand new stuff every day. I hope your stuff sells that way too, soon. Otherwise I think our best option is to be optimistic and hope they get the problem fixed soon, because it's hurting all of us.

I agree that before new artworks were much easier to find and made more sales.
