Not a food expert at all, but what I see is some probs with the light, and what most bothers me is the table..you should have been looking for an even horizon, yet you have this broken on the left edge..
Also you should have taken care about the tablecloth. As its design is so geometric I think it would have been best to at least have the horizontal line parallel to the image...and if you wanted to take it further you could have also played with the verticals leading to your cup...

Yes, the focus looks much better on this version. Is this a smaller image? The crop looks smaller than the previous image.

I like it, But I had no problem with the original.There comes a time with most of you to take what we say.......and if it applies make corrections and go for it.

Both cigarrettes will pass IMHO, but the second one is sharper.
The cookie is underexposed and the background is not black. You can fix it easily with the burn tool. I poorly fixed also the table since I found the corner was distracting. It would be good also to look at the distortion caused on the table cloth due to perspective and the lens itself, although I did not fix the distortion.
