What about tripods, remote release cables and mirror lockup??
Doesn't look good for the newbies who see this and say but you are always preaching take you tripod with you everywhere.

Barry, of course we encourage newbies to use the items you mention,to try to ensure that their shots have a greater chance of being accepted. But when you are capable of controlling your camera,to eliminate shake,(With the help of VR/IS) Then your point,although valid in concept, becomes moot.

Some of us newbies need all the help we can get. :-)
Also, given my tripod is one of those "video tripods" that everyone says is no use (confirmed by trial and many errors) and given most of my non-stock photography requires hand holding I was trying some different hand holding tricks and working on some existing ones with the assistance and guidance of Jeff and Ken.
May have even got some usable shots out of it. :-)
Very much enjoyed the day with the "old farts" despite the weather trying it's best to dampen the experience.
Looking forward to next year. :-)

I made it home guys, after being awake for 40 plus hours, too tired to go to sleep now, so will plow into some images, and wait to pick up the better half, then have a delicious dinner with a glass of wine or two, and probably sleep for a good 8 hours, (normally only sleep for 6 ) ;-)
Good to see Kenny again, and meet Geoff, light was not helping us any, but it was all good :-)

Thanks Ken, had the worst trip back you can imagine, got up at 6 AM, went out with Kenny and Geoff for the day, then had dinner, got dropped off at the airport at 11PM, had to spend next 7 hours at the airport.
Took off to Sydney , Australia, 3.5 hours in the wrong direction, then wait 3 hours for the next 12.5 hour flight to Los Angeles, then wait 4 hours (there was a 1 hour delay) to take the 1 hour flight to San Francisco.
By now I had been up for 40 hours, and traveling for 24.
Finally got home, had to pick the wife up, and then had a bottle of wine with her on the deck, had dinner. A t this point I had been up for about 49 hours, needless to say the bed was a welcome site, and I probably went to sleep in seconds after hitting the pillow :-)
Had a good 8 hours sleep and was back at my Barista job at 6:30 AM, (I make the wife a Latte every AM when at home which she enjoys in bed).
Biggest problem now is doing all the backup disks needed to Save all the images, at 16x it still is taking forever to do all of them.
