FYI, I recently purchased a Canon G1 X and like many others would prefer to have had a printed manual come with the camera. I contacted Canon customer service by submitting an inquiry through the website and they are sending me a printed manual, so apparently they are available upon request, free of charge. They'll want the serial number of your camera. It's nice to know that they are available without additional cost, esp. given the price of the camera. |

If I already have a manual, do you think they will send me the camera to go with it? |

Boy, did I ever jump the gun when I posted expressions of pleasure over receiving the Canon G1X manual in printed form! Instead of supplying the small-sized manual like one ordinarily obtains with a camera, they sent me a manual composed of printed 8 1/2" x 11" pages!!! What the hell good is that going to do? Do they really expect a photographer to lug a book like that around in a camera bag? Good lord! Not that I'm unappreciative -- Canon's customer service is excellent and it didn't cost me paper and toner, but really, folks, couldn't they have sent me one of the little manuals that would fit in the camera bag? |
