Hi Guys, please could you guide me with these questions:

1 - What resolution is best (HDTV @ max 1920x1080)?
2 - what format should files be? AVI / MOV ?
3 - For rendered files is it better to render straight out of 3dsmax or to render individually (png) and then make a composition?

Thanks
Vic

Hello and welcome aboard!

1. For details see the http://submit.shutterstock.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=122716 discussion.

The Quicktime MOV container with a Photojpeg codec( set at 75-95% compression ratio) is the most popular. Keep your camera s native frame rate and resolution.

2. Render your animations as a series of still images then combine them using any NLE. Blender is a free 3D application and has an integrated node compositor and a NLE(VSE). For using Blender VSE(video sequence editor) check http://www.youtube.com/user/davidmcsween

Good luck!
Christian
