Hi,
My trusty nailbag is still getting "hammered".
Can you please critique this shot.
Many thanks.

Looks good to me, I think it would pass lets see what everyone else says though. I'd like to see a crop on the edge of your isolation just to make sure that was looking good as well.

Looks good, but like Jen said, the edge would be good to see if the isolation was up to par

Looks a bit soft with a little noise/artifacting on the pencil and jaggies on the edge of the pencil, also black and yellow is "Stanley" and may suffer copyright/trademark rejection.

I bought a similar colored hammer from Harbor Freight, made in China, so not sure that you have a copyright problem with just the color.

Hahaha, I think my hammer was made at the same place. Why wouldn't you make it a copy of the best?

Think the jaggies may have been created in the crop creation. Are you describing the marks on the pencil as noise, because there are scratch marks on the red paint that are actually part off the pencil rather than noise, or are you describing noise in the red of the pencil other than these marks?
Thanks for your comments though, all adds up.

I think it looks flat and colorless. You can't see any details in the yellow and there is no contrast between the handle and the leather. Also, the way the straps are arranged doesn't really help the composition.
And if the yellow is copyrighted, make it green with purple butterflies in photoshop, it is the least of a problem.
I would suggest, reshoot and improve it.

First, it is probably OK to pass muster. However, I agree with the comments regarding the composition, everything is well used, dirty and just thrown down with no particular attention to detail.
The subjects themselves do not warrent another shoot, they just are neither old enough to be really interesting, nor new enough to be usable in an advertisement.
So, go ahead and submit, and move on.
