OK, I have an iMAC, and this i7 Windows 7 computer each with 16GB of DRAm, Graphics cards, yaddy ya, ya for desktops. These are keeping me very happy for speed of processing - Throughput, but have made it intolerable for me to use my laptop anymore. It is a Dual processor 2GHz Dell with 4GB of DRAM, but is 32 bit, and I find it PAINFULLY slow by comparison anytime I have to use it.
So, I am looking for suggestions as to what you all might be using, and how happy you are with it.
I do have a few criteria
1080p screen
Nvidia or equivalent graphics with 1-3GB seperate memory (not shared)
16GB DRAM capable preferably already in it
multiple USB 3 ports
quad i7 or quad i5 processors
I am thinking of this one:

Anyone have any better suggestions ?

I would look at Alienware gaming computers. (Owned by Dell)
BTW Tigerdirect owns several outlets down here under the CompUSA name and the tigerdirect name and they have a bad rep. |

This right here and their crooked E for Enron could be the problem because they are crooked. |

Don't care where I buy it altough I have never had any problems with Tigerdirect before, and have bought things from before. |

i've been to Lenovo store recently and saw some great machines. but neither one had more than 8GB of RAM. not expandable over 8GB. I don't know if they do laptops with more than that. |

Pity you don't want to go for the new MacBook Pro. Disgustingly expensive, but Sex on a Stick for photographers. And would play nicely with your other Mac friends.
I am going to be drooling through the window of the Mac store and sending it love notes.
Sigh.... |

When you get into the $2k plus area, you get into the Macbook pro arena, so I was looking for something lower priced, but like you say it is only money :-)
I don't need it yet, so no panic, just need it before the next major trip to the UK in Sept.
Between now and then I can live with the half dozen computers I have LOL! |
