I believe that SS is asking you for your stage photographer pass or credentials. The organizers of the concert may not allow members of the audience to release photographs for editorial usage.

If the photo agency you worked with issued you that stage pass, submit a copy of that. SS is getting very carefully nowadays with trademark issues.

Every concert organizer may have different copyright demands. Maybe the organizers of Lady Gaga says... it's okay for members of the audience to submit photographers for editorial uses but the organizers of Madonna say no, only approved stage photographers are allowed to release photos for editorial purposes. That's maybe the way it works ;-(

I may also be wrong so maybe someone else with more experiences will come and participate in your thread. Best regards

The key is the organizer. The concerts for Madonna may have been managed by different organizers. Example; Madonna's concerts in England is managed by one organizer, her concerts in USA is managed by another organizer. etc etc. so each organizer have different rights.

The organizer of that concert in that country or region owns and controls the marketing rights, including photographs and images. So if you have been given a stage photographer's pass, the organizers have given you permission to use your work as editorial materials.

There are many venues that prohibit photography, with all rights reserved. So unless you have credentials to photograph you cannot submit even for editorial, as you di not have rights to photograph. None of the stock sites will take even editoral images from sea world because they prohibit any photography apart from personal use without credentials which are very difficult to get.

I have a number of my best selling imges of Whales and Dolphins , which were refused initialy because I had Sea and world in my keywords, even though the images were not taken at seaworld, even as editorial. They were not accepted until I removed world from the keywords.

Do not be surprised if concerts even in the USA are organized by different event managers for the same artist(s) such as New York, Chicago or California for example.

That could be a reason(s) why some contributors' editorial concert images gets approved on SS while rejections are given to contributions from other cities/ states for the same artist(s).
