I'm stuck on 38. I hate when I don't hit 40. At least I got an EL today.

We have the smaller ones in the yard. I used to live in an area where they had the huge ones. Hate getting those things stuck in my socks. The tiny ones get stuck in my shoelaces. Not fun when you're picking a dozen or more off your shoes.
Can't imagine getting them anywhere else like Rudy did. And yeah I don't wanna know :p |

What a trooper....
I used to have to pick those things (or something similar) off our other dog "Honey" after her walk in the woods.
Hmm, Worcestershire or horse radish....decisions, decisions. | Yours were hitchhikers or klingons Kelly these are different and grow in the grass near the ocean.
These are pointy sharp and hurt like hail especially when you have to pick them off with your fingers.
They will stab you in a second right between your fingerprint lines in your fingers. |
Sand spurs are what we called them when I lived in Myrtle Beach as a kid. |

They are not the same as the Klingons and Hitchhikers that Kelly and Anita are talking about. |

The ones when I was a kid we called sticker burrs. The ones we have out here now are just plain stickers.
Oh and we're starting to get June bugs. Found 2 dead ones in the swamp cooler water. Only a matter of time before we start hearing them thunking up against the storm door and windows. |

These were the small ones. To show you that my brain doesn't work right if it is hot and humid, they were on a small field that I had to cross to photograph the back of one of the buildings. So I walked through that field to a paved patio behind the house, spend at least 1/2 hour or so to get rid of al those things only to find out that there was no other way out than going through that field again or swimming...... And than I found out that I lost my towel in that same $&@! Field. On days like today, my towel is my third most important accossory! I didn't go back lol |

Yep. Nature made those to piss you off when you're trying to walk barefoot to the beach. |

They are reporting that "Snake Bites" are on the rise this year!
Copperheads namely, in California, Georgia and many more States i cant remember right now.
One man got a bill for a Copperhead bite that was $250,000 aka a quarter million dollars! Whoa that is BS.
And they said apparently the anti-venom is expensive! Gee do you think? |

Morning Keedz...
Sand spurs.... in Wichita they were big and nasty enough to make holes in bike tires. THAT was a major pain :|
Imagine riding a bike someplace miles away, then getting flat tires from the sand burrs and having to walk the damn bike back....
Out here we have similar stuff, but people just call them stickers and they're not quite as big and strong as the ones in KS. However, if you have them in your hay bales it's another major pain -- handling the bales is impossible without getting stickers all over you, and you really don't want them in your pasture to grow more stickers....
The cow pasture right next to us has stickers and I get to pick them out of the dogs' feet when we go for a walk there. Wyatt especially is pitiful and just stands and waits for me to come "rescue" him..... LOL |

Well, dl's weren't bad this morning, but they seem to have died...I just tried to do a search, the pics are taking forever to load, that might have something to do with it. :/
When I opened my eyes this morning BB's cute little face was propped up against the side of the futon and he was looking at me.
Oh, the pool hubby brought home is ridiculous, it's 12' around and 2 ft deep, lol...it's going back. I want Buddy to be able to do the dog paddle (and BB), he needs the exercise, and he used to just love our other pool. |
