What's the legal age to be considered as an adult model by SS standards?

Thanks for your replies

I am not sure but i think it is either 18 or 21 but since it is a NY based company i would think it is 18.

Unless of course they are drinking alcohol then they need to be 21.

Tricky question seeing that Shutterstock does not mention an age only the term "minor" and minor can mean different things in different states. There is often a difference between minors and juveniles as well as a point where emancipation takes place.

Generally speaking the best one to use is the emancipation age. This is the point where a person can be in charge of their own life. They can enter into contracts, take out loans, move out of their parents house and so on.

In the state of New York where SS is based their policies usually follow the laws of the state in which they are incorporated. So the emancipation age there is when they reach their 18th birthday.

Two of my models signed for themselves at 18, and SS and others accepted those releases as legal. In the United States legal the minimum legal age is 18, and, as Dave mentioned above, SS is incorporated in the United States.

Let's see!

At 18 you can legally vote, join the Military and shoot people, buy a gun legally, buy cigarettes legally or pretty much anything else you want that is legal except for drinking a beer, a glass of wine or having a shot of Whiskey.

Not whats wrong with that picture?

Forums have been dead as of lately so a little pot stirring is required.

I let 18 year olds sign their own releases.

Personally, no one should be considered an adult for anything, including joining the military, until 21. But I don't make the rules.

No but the politicians who you put in office to speak for you do it for you even if it isn't what you want!

No it is 18 and they put up a "you must be born before this date" sign for the date you have to be born before in order to purchase them and they do the same with alcohol.

I worked a part time night job (lasted 2 weeks) for 7-11 and had to know this.
