By downloads are you talking about sales or are you talking about the rejection of images that many have been complaining about?

For sales mine have been very good. BME last month. My last batch submitted were all approved but I have still heard some complaining but not quite as much as before.

I'm talking about sales of new uploaded files, not the older ones.

If you don't upload new files as soon as they are ready, they never become "old files" which would be downloaded.
Will the timing matter so much? If your images are good, they will be downloaded sooner or later.
Maybe I'm missing something?
My new content gets downloads according to its topic. If the topic is popular, there will be DLs, if not, DLs will be slow.

Not the greatest but the new stuff has been selling. I don't think they are selling like they did a year ago but a bit better than a few months ago.

Occasionally, I have a file downloaded the day it goes on line ... or, at least within a few days.
Otherwise, most of my downloads are what I consider my "popular" files.

It is nothing like what it used to be BUT all my file used to be new. :-)

New content rules!

The impact power of new images is dependent on several factors. Some of them are: image quality, keywording skills, branding and image linking, upload frequency...

More details can be found in my article http://biginmicrostock.com/pages/advanced-microstock-selling/new-content-rules.html

The actual trend here is that new images sells "something" for two 3 days.. and then after 2 more weeks they start selling again... It's not like in the past..

Yes, you are right I have the same problem like this that I have very good download for my previous file but this doesn`t apply to my latest images and I really don`t know the problem.

I wonder how long it takes for a ‘new file’ to become an ‘old file’?

I get a few sales off new files but majority are from my older work, I just keep uploading regardless……

Life’s just too short to worry about such things.

I still haven't figured when a new file becomes an old file but do frequently use the SS tool for calculating New to Old sales ratio.

Until a few months ago, it was about 20%. In the last few months my New:Old ratio has plummeted to 5% New Image Sales. Six months seems to be SS Normal reporting period?
