Here's a really weird glitch that I have been corresponding with customer service on for a couple of weeks:
I include scientific names among the search terms for my nature/wildlife shots, but when I search using the subjects' scientific names, my images do not show up. They've been looking into the problem, but, as yet, have not solved it.
Just an overall observation: I'm nearing my one-year anniversary with Shutterstock and have noticed an overall deterioration in the functionality of the site. I've experienced many of the same glitches discussed in other threads. You have to wonder if the platform is sagging under the weight of the images that now reside there. |

Very interesting discovery on this problem. Customer service suggested that I not register the two-part scientific name as one search term, as they recommend, but break them into two separate search terms. I did that and, presto, my images started showing up in searches if I used just one part of the scientific name or combined both names in one search. Shutterstock's search engine apparently misfires when you combine two names in one search term. |
