Hi Jeff! This line refers to where the script automatically gets the current active document which should be already opened for editing in Photoshop. If you don't have an opened document when you load the script, then you will get this error.
I suppose you did not followed the instructions as in the first post of this thread. To avoid the same problem with other users, I've updated the script so it checks if there is an active document when you load it. Just download it again from the first post and follow the instructions on the first post. |
Works great with windows 7 and cs5 and cs6. You are correct, I can get Jeff's error if I try to load the script without a document open.

That's right. If you get the latest version, it checks for a document open and if it does not exist, it will let you know. |

Can you tell us how to make the script permanently available in PS? |

Thanks!
Sure, I can tell but since this information is ready on many internet sites already, instead of showing myself, I'll just give a link for one blog where the guy say how to create keyboard shortcuts to call scripts:

I actually meant how do you add it to the File > Scripts menu in PS, but I found the way to do it is close PS, then copy the *.jsx file into the Presets > Scripts folder on your hard drive.
On a Mac this is under;
Applications > Adobe Photoshop CS5 > Presets > Scripts
Not too sure where it is on a PC, but I assume similar.
Then when you re-open PS your script is available under File>Scripts.
Thereafter you can use the link you supplied to create an action, or assign a shortcut key.
Nice! |

It is the same on a Pc, just place in the scripts folder in PS. On a PC it is under program files, rather than applications, rest is same.
