i have some pics of Hong Kong skyline and want to submit them. But i was thinking...should i remove all the advertisings or should i submit them as they are with an editorial caption?
And what if they got accepted? Would they sell much more if not editorial? What's the difference with such type of pics?
pls advice
btw, this example doesnt have that much brandnames in it, but i also have a panorama with the names of the world's largest companies visible

I do not see value in these pictures, either as editorial or normal stock.
Editorial according to SS is newsworthy and usually has to be linked to some kind of event. The editorial caption must represent that too, including the date it was taken.
Ask yourself, what would you use these for?

I believe there might be value in these pictures. China is about to change leaders in a few months. With the amount of western bussiness connections in hongkong I'm sure there will be plenty of news articles written about it. And Honkong harbour is probably one of the most recognisable sites of Honkong.
There might well be a bit of competition for sales because there are some spectacular views of this harbour already here. But why not give it a shot.
Editorial or not? Not really sure. I have a few editorial shots but none that sell well. Might be best to clone the stuff out to avoid the restrictions of editorial sales?

Why is there no commercial value in this shot?
Sure, clone out the names or change them so that they dont reflect existing brands and submit as RF.
My chicago and st louis skylines are selling so why wont this one.

thanks guys, i will give it a try to clone some stuff out. But i think i will also submit one as editorial, just to give it a try.
Who has been there knows that more to the left are the larger neon lights which spread a lot of colored light. Very difficult to clone out.

You dont have to clone them out. Just make it look like a neon light with not text.
And why submit as editorial and restrict sales?
