Hopefully somebody can help me with this.
I am a beginner at vector.Actually I have been trying do a vector. But whatever I draw I get bitmapping area. (embedded images)
I have been read some tutorial ask google,,etc..but I confused.
How can I do fix bitmapping areas.
At this link http://www.shutterstock.com/buzz/bitmapping-101-troubleshooting-eps-files-in-illustrator
It is written that
(Once you locate your bitmapping area, you can change the transparency, expand the effect, or change your technique, and resave the artwork as an EPS file.)
change transparency expand effect or technique????How will I do these?
Help me.
Thanks

Usually if you are getting bitmaps, your drawing is using an 'effect' that can't be saved as a vector.

For example, if you are using the transparencies(making part of your vector transparent to some degree) and saving as illustrator eps 8, that will turn into a bitmap. So the article is saying find the area that is bitmapping and change whatever 'effect' is causing the problem. If it is a tranparency, either save as illustrator 10 or get rid of the transparency. Once you fix the problem area, resave the file. Other effects that cause bitmaps are things like inner glow, drop shadow,etc...

Does that help at all?

thanks for your reply.
yes when I saved as illustrator 8, I had 4 bitmapping areas. But I saved my vector as illustrator 10 and I get 1 bitmapping areas.
I had 3 layers I merged two of them and I delete one. results one layer and no bitmapping area.
But after I save as again as eps. file I saw the bitmapping area again.:((((

may be the problem that.
may be I couldn't save as my file appropriate way.
my way is that.
open ai. file
when I save as eps. file, at Eps option box at transparency, I couldn't sea the active custom area. because at custom area i can sea custom transparency flatter options and fix raster/vector balance to 100 percent ( it is written at http://www.shutterstock.com/buzz/bitmapping-101-troubleshooting-eps-files-in-illustrator)
so I first save for web and devices as giff file.then open this giff file and save as eps file. Now I can sea custom are and fix raster/vector balance to 100 percent.
is this right?

Why do you want to save it as a GIF (and save for web is very low resolution)? Once you save it as a raster (JPG, GIF, PNG), it flattens the whole file. You can't do anything with it after that point. You should just do Save As... -> Illustrator EPS, then choose EPS-10 and set your other settings accordingly (usually just the defaults). The only reason you need to export as raster is when you want to sell that artwork as a raster (JPG, not GIF).

Good luck!

Hi! You mean that when you try to save your AI file as EPS10, then in the saving dialogue you see the "Custom..." button under Transparency area greyed-out like in the attached image?

But that would mean, I guess, that you dont have any transparent objects in your AI file and you can just click "Ok" and save it as EPS10. After saving, close the eps file and open it again in Illustrator and check for possible bitmapping but it shouldnt be there.

If it doesnt help you, can you maybe show us the illustration and point out which part turned into bitmap?
