ok...well i am VERY ametuare at this but i bet you are very anxious for some feedback....so i guess take it this way...if i see there is something wrong and i am not very trained to do so...there mite be something wrong...but dont take anything too hard....
1.I think this shot is great..i dont see any noise...and i think it is very comercialable..(im not sure if thats a word)
2.hmmm...i dont know about this one... i think the top right hand corner wher the brown (door?) is distracting...maybe crop it out? i think it would help if you got that bit out
3.there is noise in the sky and the qualty of the 100% crop is kinda iffy....i really don't know about this one i wouldn't use it for ur intial 10
4. i can tell you cut this out...especiually in the 100% crop....and i don't know what it is...i dont think this one would work...
5.love the lil guy but i dont think it would be accepted because of focus issues and it looks very noisy or pixelated....
6.Nothing really special....and the clock looks dirty especially the glass...i wouldnt use it
7.could it be a white balance problem...the picture needs to pop more...especially with a picture of dogs which there are a lot of so it has to be exceptional
8.im loving the elephant...i love the background...i think the composistion is great...
9.i think this is my favorite...beautiful...what a great moment to capture on camera...i love how the two elephants ..one is ligher and one is darker...
10.ehhh...not sure about this one |

The only one I might keep to submit is #8,,,, even that one could be a bit soft.
The others I would throw out.. mostly for the reasons mentioned already. There are focus problems, a white balance issue (on one of them) and as stated the cutout for the isolation was done very poorly. There is a sticky thread at the top of the "Critique/Tips/Tricks" forum for isolating objects... maybe it would help to read that.
I would start looking through other's gallerys and get ideas that way.
Good Luck.

Yeah 8 looks pretty good, seems like a lot of the pictures have focus issues. use a tripod. I liked the two dogs but focus will get it rejected. |

Hi here is some criticism for you
Photo 1 -
the background is not really white, whatch the corners for example. There is something unnatural about the shadow, try to give more light to the nlower part so as to reduce the shadow. Close the diafragm to get everything in focus, not so now.

Some pixelation/noise here

Blown highlights and noisy sky. Nice photo though.

Poor isolation, watch closely the borders of the stick. Also the shadows have suspect borders

So nice but so noisy, try noise reduction software

Noisy and not very interesting

White balance off, too yellow

This is very nice. A bit of blur tool on the background shoud rid you of the luminace noise

This is so good that technical aspect will not matter. Focus not perfect but should be accepted.

A bit noisy

And one more thing, as Ackab subtley eluded to: Can you change your font to something a bit smaller and more subdued? It's like you're yelling at us!! |

My 2 cents:
Make sure any objects you're shooting in islation are spotlessly clean (unless you're going for an obviously old/dirty/grungy look)... there is dust, hair (?), a greasy fingermark, and all sorts of gunk on that glass clock.
Give it a really good clean with liquid glasscleaner to bring up the glass, set it up in place, and give it another wipe over with a lint free cloth to pick up any strays. If you can open it, i'ld clean the face and hands too - they look a bit grubby also.
Hope that helps, and good luck! |
