I just read an interesting aricle on CNN.com about the development of a replacement for the Bayer filter on digital camera sensors.

Could it be the beginning of low noise, high sensitivity photography that we've all dreamed about?

Could it be all or our cameras are about to be obsolete?

We shall see. They also fail to mention if it will be a consumer product ( affordable ) or not. Forbes also ran the article. Not anywhere does it mention less noise, only more pixels (smaller in size). And both articles are still very lacking with any useful information, other than maybe buy Kodak Stocks real quick.
