Hi All,

Last new topic today I believe :) My other rejection reason for today made up the majority of my rejections. It's the dreaded noise issue. I can't find any though, so I've posted full size shots of two. Can you tell me where the noise is so that maybe I can fix it?

I can see what appears to me to be noise in the bowl of the spoon and in some of the shadows on the plate. Also maybe some in the green spiral pasta at the back of the plate. Gotta look real close, so was this justified ... I don't know. Looks good enough to eat and that's what Dave always said was a sign of a good food image.

Kathy, Look at the top of the Plate where the highlights are almost blown out. Now look at the transition shadows underneath that highlight. Lots of noise there from what I am seeing. Also, looks like you sharpened the photo or your in camera sharpening is on. You may want to either shut that off in the camera or back off a bit in post processing when it comes to sharpening. I am seeing just a little in the shaded areas of each image. Hope that helps. Remember food doesn't have speckles in it like these are showing, you want to see texture only.

the noise rejection is also for artifacts and over sharpening, i see that throughout the image or at least what appears to be artifacts. there are lots of little white specs that look like bright reflections. that may have something to do with it

Ah ha! I found a tiny bit in the Shadow next to the front piece of chicken in the first. I'll go back through and reduce size on these slightly to see if that helps.

And yes there is a lot of shine on the food. It's tossed with Italian dressing both for photo appeal and taste ;)

Thanks guys. Was really starting to think I was losing my mind or something.
