I do not have Adobe Illustrator. That will be sometime in the future when I can afford to.
But...I do have Paint Shop Pro X.
I did learn that not all Vectors are the same, and there can be issues when it comes time for a designer to upsize them. I experimented a long time ago with an image for myself, and the images where very pixelated in Paint Shop.
So, I'm wondering what everyone uses to create their vector art, and if anyone is using Paint Shop Pro? I might have been doing it wrong. But I'd love recommendations before proceeding with trying out vectors.
Thank you in advance. :) |

Adobe Illustrator is really the best and easiest way to make vector art. I used freehand for years but Illustrator was always better. Illustrator will pay for itself. !Vector DLs are always very good on SS!
Good luck on your Vectors:) |

Like Red said only illustrator.
I started with Corel, and after Corel I worked in Freehand, and finally with stronger comp. met illustrator.
AI is all what you need. |

Illustrator is probably the best, but I use Coreldraw because I am very familiar with it. The results are pretty much the same, it's just the interface that differs. |

I like Corel Draw better than Ai for it's easier and faster to create vector curves in Corel Draw.
And actually you can export from Corel to EPS 8:
File -> Export -> Choose EPS -> EPS Export -> Advanced -> Choose PostScript Level 2. But be shure you have no gradient fills and transparent objects in your file.
The newer version of Corel - Corel Draw X3 allows to export gradients in EPS, but you'll first need to "save as" your file as Ai CS2 file, then open it in Ai CS2 and save as EPS 8 file - so you'll need Adobe Illustrator to do it anyway.
But if you don't use gradient fills in your graphics, then it is not a problem to export your file from Corel Draw in EPS 8 format. |

Hi -
Inkscape is an Open Source vector graphics editor, with capabilities similar to Illustrator, Freehand, CorelDraw, etc.
Get it free, here ---> http://inkscape.org/
I have not used it, but am going to test it out. If anyone uses it, let's compare notes here.
Yours, Scott |
