I've only been uploading vectors.

Should I be uploading jpg versions as well?

Can I add jpgs to my existing files, or do I need to upload them as separate submissions?

So in my portfolio, I'll have two copies of the same image (jpg and eps).

Is it alright to have duplicates in this manner?

Wow I can't believe I completely missed the jpg boat

Yes, it's ok to have duplicates as long as they are different file types.

The .jpgs may not sell as well as the vectors, but since you have already done the work, it will be like free money. :)

One more question.

Should I be tagging them any particular way, so someone shopping for just jpgs can find them?

I don't think so. Anyone wanting .jpgs and not vectors can filter for just .jps (or just vectors if that's what they want) when they search.

Good question

This is big problem on SS.
I stopped uploading jpg files, only vector.
If you want reach the top 50, this jpg will increase your chance, because it is a separated file.
And the problem of your gallery, on the first page with 60 files is that you have actually 30, because you have duplicated files.
Who wants to lose time with this.
But there are buyers who want only jpeg.
Please SS do something with this.

This theme is for HOT THREAD
common people tell us what you thing about this?

To upload or not to upload?
Question is now!

sorry for my bad English...

Stagger the uploads. You can use the jpeg's to revive a slow sales period.

They should be under atleast Illustrations/Clip Art, this is enough. You could mark the image as "Name illustration" avoid using the word "vector" in the keywords, just in case.

Vectors to jpeg sales are about 2:1 for me.

I was under the impression that the jpegs were required for the preview image. I upload one of each (jpg and eps) using the same filename.

The jpeg you are uploading is a lo-res version to be used solely as a thumbnail. The question being asked here is whether to upload a hi-res rasterized version of the vectors.

In theory, this is a good idea. My problem is that it adds another level of complexity to an already complicated process (i.e. submitting vectors): I can never remember if I have submitted the jpg or not, and have to keep records or go back and check Stats to see if the jpg is pending or in my gallery.

In the SS old days (a few months ago), the staggering used to happen automatically, because vectors were reviewed almost immediately while jpgs took a few days longer. Now the situation is reversed, and jpg are appear in my gallery first.

frozenpeas is right, I think. It was better for sales back when the vectors were reviewed first. The jpg was like an advertisement for the vectors.
