I would not want to fly anyway. So much beautiful country between here and there. It'd be a shame to leave the cams at home.

the cams?

Why do you wonder you? He has 15 computers, 10 in a so-called render farm, but I think what he really does is breeding them *rofl* SY

"Cams" as in cameras. One for photo, one for video, one for time lapse. Plus the bear necessities. Lenses, tripods, batteries, audio equipment, laptop, hard discs... all the usual stuff. Don't tell me you're going and you leave your camera at home! ;-)

Btw: Since the weekend is the first of our Autunm school holidays, I might actually be able to make it - coming with my lady on Friday evening or Saturday morning and staying for the WE plus a few days. Not sure yet though.

Unfortunately, I'll be working in those days so no chance to be with everyone Thursday and Friday, but I'm free for the weekend.

So, has it's been said we're not shooting in a studio, so the most natural thing to do is some tourism during the day in Lisbon, the romantic village of Sintra and the beaches in Cascais, and at night go to some bars or Discos or go to a tavern and listen to Fado played live...

But if you prefer a more radical aproach, we can allways do sky-dive jumping from a plane piloted by Francisco :-D

LOL... only if you'd like to end your existence... ;)

Well, but that's more or less what i'm planning, and maybe we can go a little bit farther to one or two more unexpected places, but that depends on the size of the group and the logistics to get there...

Anyway, we'll get a bit more specific on the planning as soon as we know how many people we're having, and (most important) what would they like to do...

And you're sure you can't take a break for those two days ?? It would be nice to have a "hosting party" instead of the "hosting guy" ;)

Not that it's difficult to put this show on the road... i'm just calling you to have fun, don't worry :)

That would be one option. Going there and taking my time, probably 3-4 days to get there and the same back.

The other option would to fly there (together with my lady) on Fr evening and stay until We or so.

Not sure if I can make it at all yet though.

Was just checking flights to Belgrade, but there are only expensive flights available! No easyjet or something. So even in march 2008 a return flight from Belgium or Netherlands will cost 250 euro (the cheapest option I could find)
For only a weekend, that's way to expensive for me.

Depends where are you located in the Netherlands - you can fly from Cologne/Bonn for 96 Euro (just checked prices for March with http://www.germanwings.com). The later you book the higher will be the price indeed.

Regarding Spring meeting in Belgrade, Serbia, is it OK to be from 21-23 March 2008?
Yes, I know it is to early, but I would like all interested fellows to send me an email to gajatz(a)gmail.com just as preliminary information.
Thanks!

P.S. Cyril, if you can give your email address, so I can also keep you informed as starter of thread.

I am fully supportive of fixing the dates and approximate costs as early as possible - that will allow early (=cheap) flight booking and trip planning.

Could you tell whether EU nationals need to obtain a visa to get to Belgrade?

Don't think so, for most EU countries all it takes is a regular passport. Didn't see a EU nationals entry on the list, rather all the countries are listed, but from what i saw, most EU countries are OK.

Check here for your country

Visas no needed.
Regarding prices we are still checking hotels and other stuff. The final estimate cost we'll be able to give you at the end of September. One of to possible places for outdoor shooting would be Salas 84
You can check location and ambient here:
http://www.salas84.co.yu/eindex.html
We are planning to have 4-5 models available 8 hours on Sat and 8 hours on Sun. Is this enough? Do we need less or more? So plan would be, March 21-24, Fri 21st arrival, Sat 22nd fun and shooting in Belgrade (studio + location), Sun 23rd fun and shooting at Salas 84 (including lunch), 24th Mon flying home :)

4 days or 2 days, it will be fun just the same ;-)

I can allways help you with the details, though! PM me so that we can change mobile nºs and maybe we can meet one of these days.
