Right,

I have thought of yet another question. I am trying to get my vector files down to 5MB in eps format but having a bit of difficulty. Do the files have to be 5MB on their own or can they be over 5MB but less than 5MB when compressed using Stuffit for example? They would then be less than 5MB for the purposes of uploading & downloading.

Thanks again, I will evetually run out of question and face up to the fact that I am actually just going to have to get on with it and submit something.

The files have to be 5mb or under. We do not accept compressed files.

Right you are and thanks once again, Setho.

Does anyone else read these posts or is it just you? You seem to have your work cut out.

Don't make your illustrations too complicated... sometimes it's hard to keep things under 5MB.

Delete all unused swatches, brushes, styles and symbols.

Use gradients sparingly, if at all.

Make your artboard smaller, and crop your illustration to the borders of the artboard.

Sometimes you can Simplify paths to create fewer points...

I've forgotten half of the things I've thought of to make files smaller... if you have a specific file you're struggling with, post it and maybe I'll have some more suggestions... good luck!

Ok then,

Thanks for the suggestions.

My illustrations do have a lot of gradients and even a blend or two. I figured these might be causing a problem, although I have tried deleting one or 2 of the blends and re-saving but it doesn't seem to make any difference.

I actually found that scaling the illustration down made the most difference but it's still about 5.7 MB and so small it's barely visible.

When you say to post a file on here, would that be using the "Choose File" and "Add Attachment" buttons?

Thanks again,

Ross
