"Forgiss" Hi all!!!!

I reached a nice milestone yesterday and thought I would share some insights about microstock (to all the new guys) and some stats (to those that have been here beside me) and ask some questions (to those that own galleries I aspire to...)

Yesterday I hit my $2000.00 mark in microstock earnings (downloads only, no referrals worked in)

That is very cool, it gives me something to work for. Thanks for all the tips, I will try to make the best use of them in the future. Althought I take mostly nature shots I have actually been doing pretty well on this site as well. I'm working up to my first payout still but I can tell that things are speeding up as far as sales go. I currently have 262 images online and am working on more. Althought I have had a little set back I'm still going pretty strong(I broke my leg while I was shooting in Yellowstone). And I believe you are correct keeping things in the review queue is the key to success here. Keeps fresh images always in front of the folks looking for new things.

Just thought I should point out that I'm still a way behind Sean in terms of income and time and what seems like a lifetime behind Andres, however, I'm getting closer to the first $1000 and expect to reach it by the end of the month.

Last month I made $265.00 and this month I'll top $300.00.

Not vast amounts by comaprison to day job earnings but the month on month growth is phenomenal in terms of percentages. And.... I've been a 'little lazy' for the last month or so, (actually other commitments) but I can see the potential.... and not only that I am seeing results. This time next year it will be more than 10 times that amount if I build up my momentum a little.

As far as realists go, I used to be one but now I'm much more positive.

The quote given earlier

"The success of the few is predicated on the failure of the many."

doesn't ring true for me.. that's simply a comparitive statement.

I'm more inclined to go with something like

"The success of the few could be repeated by the many, if the many put in the same amount of work as the few"

or

"The secret of success is nothing more than a bit of hard work"

Not as eloquent mind you but a much more positive approach. ;-)

PJ,

I think I'm pretty close to you in stock, with figures & earnings on the same page as you, rather than Andres & Forgiss who are a little ahead foor now.

I tend to pay attention to your goals/results. I know I can get to a full time income, but in the mean time my full time income gets in the way.

Last month I got $365 from all stock, most importantly I can now see a plus factor of 10 & this gig gets intersting

Well this is only my second month (and in truth my 3rd week!) on SS. I have been with other photo sites but had very little success (Joined one in April have only just reached $10.50 today!) however SS is looking quite good, I am currently averaging 2.45 DL's a day for this month which I personally think is quite good for such a short period of time, I am desperate to be able to take better pictures to my averages of acceptance improve, I just cannot seem to get indoor pictures to work, I think it is a light thing, or it may be that I need to invest in a new camera.
Anyway have fun all, keep posting your tips, they have helped a lot...

SS = ShutterStock
IS = iStockphoto
DT = DreamsTime
BS (or BSP) = BigStockPhoto

Not sure about 123 as nothing relevant seems to come up on Google.
