I'm working with HD clips too. But not very long time. Please excuse me because I will now write in german to Varius. My english is not good enough for specific problems.

I'll send you a PM about that.

Hey I joined a couple of weeks ago, and uploaded a couple pictures. But I want to upload some video clips, I have some DVCAM clips which I put up in AVI format. But I also want to upload some HDV clips I have.

I tried following what u said, but for some reason when installing stream clip it say I need to have a version of quick time that suports quicktime. I tried installing the quicktime alternate thats ment to have mpeg 2 suport but no luck... there wasnt even an option to install it.
I also have avid installed and have never had a problem working with mpeg two, so wondering whats going on.

Are there any other hd formats which are accepted by shutter stock, I also have canopus pro coder 2.

Many thanks, this has been driving me mad!!!

It is odd that you're having problems with MPEG Streamclip. I don't think you need quicktime installed to run that program, although I could be wrong. It seems like a codec problem ultimately to me, like the installation of Streamclip is being denied because it is interfering with something, Avid possibly. I know Pro Tools (Also owned by Avid) seems to be very sensitive to installing new codecs or encoders. Again, I'm just speculating, but try googling for some information on that problem as having MPEG Streamclip installed will very much make things easier.

For now, just output your clips using Avid into Motion Jpeg B with the settings in the first post for HDV. DV .mov for SD.

I got the same message when I had to deinstall Quicktime 7 once. After I did it, Streamclip wouldn´t work but told me "no quicktime support", or something like that. After reinstalling QT everything went back to normal...

Try to install Quicktime 7 player (free) and afterwards Streamclip and see what happens.

Good luck!
Stefan

PS: I have QT Pro but I don´t think that matters. I guess Streamclip needs the newest version of QT player to work.

Streamclip needs the Quicktime player installed. Doesn't have to be the pro version, the free player will do.

So there you go willall, looks like all you need to do is install quicktime, then install MPEG Streamclip.

Sorry guys thats what I'm saying I have already done, I have installed quick time... or the version they recomened in the instructions but it doesnt work. I dont really want to shell out the money for mpeg 2 suport when I already have it in other aplications, and buying it just for this program isnt attractive considering I can render mpeg two fine in canopus, avid, premier ect...
I have tried searching for the motion jpeg codec but I cant seem to find anything, are there any other programs that do the same thing, or work with premier or canopus???
Many thanks if anyone can help :)

p.s. I am a poor university student, which is the reason I dont want to have to buy mpeg 2 for quicktime. Plus it would meen that I can only use it on my laptop, I would not be able to use it in the editing suite at uni.

Have you tried wiping it out completely and re-installing? Is formatting the computer an option? Is there any other apple oriented software you can think of that is installed on your computer?

Ok, finally figured it out. The version of quick time alt I was installing didn't have the right plugins for the program, I've downloaded the right one now. I will try it out when i get home and let u know, thanks for all the help.

Finally he asked: What format does the customer prefer: .mov or .mpg?

What is it?

Simply said, if the customer is a professional and knows what there doing (which if you're buying stock footage I assume you will be) they'll want the .mov file. MPG is not good for video editing suites.
