Have you been to a Spice Girls concert?, If yes, lucky you :)!
Note, you can only upload such a clip if you have recorded it personally, with or without sound, and even then it will most likely be for editorial use only because the show is surely copyrighted.
640 x 480 is oficially accepted by SS and I know it´s not bad because my Ixus 60 is doing the same (640 x 480 progressive, 30 fps, 15 mbps with mjpeg - codec), but you would increase your sales posibilities a lot by uploading at least standard broadcast DV footage (PAL or NTSC). Anything else, if it´s in fact purcheased, will only sell as low res mpeg.

Lol yes i did go to a Spice girls concert ( i´m embarressd to admit :D ) i uploaded the files once (as editorial) and it was rejected they said because the audio was copywrited ( was a bit confused coz i thought that would be covered by "editorial"), so i uploaded it again but silent.
Can you convert your file to the "standard broadcast DV footage (PAL or NTSC)" or do you need to use different equipment to record it in the 1st place. |

Why not? Some "vintage pop" can be fun if it´s live, doesn´t mean that you would listen to this stuff at home...
For producing standard definition broadcast footage (PAL 720 x 576, NTSC 720 x 480) you would need another cam, wether SD or HD. But, any investment that makes sense, i.e. that you can use these cameras for a good while, would start around 800 - 900 USD.
It´s a bit strange with the sound. Commercial music or clearly recognizable voices are not allowed, even though they are part of a scenery, e.g. a party or some street with outdoor bars, so that you would guess that is covered by editorial use. Probably it´s because you are actually selling your clip and you would use this music / voice to promote your footage without paying the owner if you left it in.
Cheers,

VINTAGE POP? Holy cow, I keep forgetting how young you people are. ;-) Spice Girls was a time when pop became boring 'cause it all sounds the same. When Madonna stoped making music (and consequently called her album "music"). When it was more important to look "good" (or mean) than to create good music. Want to hear real vintage pop? Try Abba. ;-)
LOL
Actually there was spice girls song or two that I liked - can't remember which. There's still a lot of good new music out there. It has just become so damn hard to find. :( |

Don´t worry, I am already 39 (though people keep telling me I look 10 years younger. Gotta be that healthy nightlife LOL..:). I said "vintage" because I remembered that when the Spice Girls were big it was "cool" to go by "rollerblades" through the English Garden in Munich, where I am originally from. (Probably they still go by rollerblades, but they won´t hear Spice Girls...).
ABBA is not vintage, ABBA is a religion (so are the Stones, and Madonna :)!
