Hello all -

I just want to point out that it is in your best interest to keyword etc. carefully...

The more thought you put into categories/keywords the easier it will be for people to find your image.

I have found that many of you will submit a picture of say, a motorcycle, and you wont even have "motorcycle" listed as a keyword. How is anyone going to find your picture if that is the case? They would have to wade through an awful lot of pictures....

Also...make sure that the word "motorcycle" is not just in the description section, but also in the keyword section...

Thanks!

Andrea

I think the concept of needing at least 10 keywords like at istock makes you think more.
Also what would help would be a way to edit your categories and keywords after a photo has been submitted/accepted. I have noticed a couple of errors in mine. I know you can delete it and re submit, but that also takes time, and is more work for Andrea.

Can the search engine be made to search the description field too? Sometimes words which make sense in a narrative description look stupid in a keyword list.

I think I've gotten a warning about over-keywording once too; it makes it hard to know just when to stop.

Being able to edit the keywords would let us solve a lot of problems.

I think editing keywords would help, but I am also worried of people going overboard with keywords as it makes it impossible to navigate. Not sure of the solution.

I guess you could reject a photo with the comment "will accept, but fix keywords" or something to let people know if they're doing something wrong.

I agree that post-uploaded key word editing would be nice. There are a lot of times I may think of good keywords weeks after an upload.

At another site I uploaded a file with my choice of keywords and when I viewed it, I noticed they had inserted tons of keywords I hadn't even thought of. This would be nice also, but I realize that would probably be TOO much work for you guys so I could live with the first, if thats possible.

i think this should be top priority - it's not easy to get them all covered at time of upload, and has certainly delayed me putting more up.

Would a second search such as "search within results", help to define searches more and help pin point photos for designers?
