Scenic postcards of all things. I probably have over 500 total from every state in the "lower" 48.

I didn't realize how much stuff I collected until this post came up. First of all I have a small collection of small antique items like a pocket watch my grandfather gave me, a baby spoon, a commemorative Tonto ring from the days when they had the Lone Ranger on the radio. I also have a GAR badge from the national encampment in Washington from 1892. Found that as a child. I also still have a stamp collection, but don't collect those anymore. I have a coin collection, these I either bought through a coin club or were given to me when someone I knew visited another country. I also collect shot glasses. But, my biggest collection is NASCAR of which 95% of it is Dale Earnhardt. The last time I checked Beckett, I have a small fortune boxed up in my closet. LOL :)

I collect daguerreotypes and ambrotypes. Does anyone know if it's okay to submit scanned daguerreotypes, they are about 150 years old, so since I did not take the photo but because of the age they are not copyrighted will shutterstock allow that? If so I am assuming I don't need a model release since the person in the photos is obviously no longer living?

That is a very good question. Are they in public domain? I would directly ask SS.

Nice. Man, 205 for GS is long. I pull out my Elan GSX 198s for the Annual Super-G and everyone thinks I'm nuts for having such long skiis. Wondered how that guy would do on today's GS skiis. Maybe he would have even ventured onto the slalom courses.
Something I found out a couple of years ago about Stenmark. I guess he's the first to ever race on 'parabolic' skiis (Elan invention).

ok, i'm going way off subject here, but- elan stole the parabolic design from a guy named igor-(i wont even try to spell his last name) who made the S Ski (S-haped-Ski)in aspen circa 93-94. i mounted the first 100 pairs he made with ess-var bindings, his shop was in the AABC where Obermyer is located in aspen and by luck i lived there(in the AABC in a place that is now a digital imaging lab irony?) and he needed a ski tech- and in an attempt to revolutionize the sport in 94 igor (a chezch engineer) threw a industry wide party on ajax closing day 94.
well, lets just say that EVERYONE was there.
needless to say elan came out with a mass production parabolic -no patent protection like scottybob has with his bobtail tele ski- and skiing as we knew it was changed forever.
still is.
little known trivia that only you can appreciate.
i could go on with this story but i've lost everyone at this point.

I suppose I also Collect Stuff!
Stuff I find in my "Travels" that I think will make a great prop or isolated object for Stock Photography.
My Stuff Collection is far to numerous to list, lots of it is in my SS gallery already or waiting for the Right Moment to be used as a prop or isolated or both or what have you.
Lots of stuff from yard sales and the .99 cent only stores.
my wife seems to think im a pack rat, go figure!
:)
