I'm wondering if anybody is submitting photos to stock with the Olympus E3?!
Please show me your portfolio!

I won E3 on a national competition :)))
( something like an Oscar award for photography in Croatia),with the EZ 12-60 lens, and a power grip... and now while waiting the delivery...I don't know what to do. Actually I have the Canon EOS 350 D,with 50 mm 1.4, EF 28-135 IS USM, and 18-55 (kit).
I like some of the features E3 offers , but I'm afraid that it produces to much noise.

sell it and buy some more glass or another Canon body

I doubt that you'll see noticeable noise differences at base ISO. But I would agree with vclements' advice. I personally think that Canon is a better long-term value than Olympus, mainly because the upgrade prospects are much clearer. As I wrote before, I think that quality 12MP is a kind of a sweet spot for stock photography (especially if you submit on the Other Big Site), and getting there with Canon (or Nikon) is very straightforward, plus you have different options of getting there at different price points.

I know it would be rational to sell it, and in the beggining I got some offers from people that use Olympus cameras , knowing that I have Canon, but now when I asked directly they steped back.

Selling always takes time. Just be patient ;). Just be reasonable and don't expect to get exactly what the new E3s go for in Europe ;) .

The E3 coupled with the 12-60 will give you excellent results for stock photography. Don't believe that somehow Olympus is an inferior system to the "mighty Canon"; it all depends on what you want in a camera system.

No but I've used the E-500 and E-510 quite a bit. You'll love the way Olympus lays out the menus and live view with the tilting screen. The E3 is supposed to be quite good at handling noise and high dynamic range.

Just sell it to me and stick with Canon :P

I've been using the E-500 since 2,5 years and I really love it! The noise is terrible with the E-500 but the E-3 uses a different sensor which should produce a LOT less noise. So I've been looking for an E-3 but don't have the money for it yet (and I have a lot of other priorities).

You can take a look at my portfolio to see what the E-500 is capable of and keep in mind that the E-3 is capable of a lot more.

The last one in my is taken with E3 ... On ISO 100 it has no problems with noise, on higher levels it has more than Canon...but I suppose I'll continue shooting for stock just at ISO 100

Well - ALL my shots are taken with an Oly E-1 - a mere 5 Mpixels and I'm very happy with it. You can see for yourself if the pair of us are up to the job. The numbers aren't everything, but I'd love an E-3 for the extra flexibility

That said - and it breaks my heart to say this - the logical thing for you to do is use it to fund improvements in the system you already have rather than start again.

Just don't take your C***n out in the rain.

Good to see such great stock photos taken with Olympus cameras.
hehehe...I have forgotten that I've uploaded on other sites some photos taken with my old 3.2 px Olympus camera, but had a lot to do on them...
I don't know what shall I do...I think I'll fall in love with E3, and than it would be to late to be rational.. I apreciate very much your advice,exspecially because it comes from an E1 owner... :)

I´m sure that E-3 body is much better than 350D :-) There is still "friendly fight" of Oly and Canon users :-) but E-3 and Zuiko 12-62 is nice couple. I use Oly E-500 with ZD 14-54/2.8-3.5 and ZD 50/2.0 with good results. Tom

I too would do it the other way around: keep the E-3
you don't have a lot of canon gear either, sell it all and buy good glass
