I just bought this lens to go with my new alpha 200. I also have the Carl ziess 16-80mm. I went all out on the ziess, but is this old Minolta - AF 75-300 F4.5-5.6 D an OK telephoto lens for a midrange amateur photographer?

I'm not too sure which Minolta 75-300 you're talking about, but for lens reviews for a-mount this is an excellent website:
