Hi artcphotos,

Shooting events like NASCAR where company logos are prevalent (and unavoidable) requires the image to be editorial. No special permission from us is necessary for you to submit these kind of images. Our review team will determine what is acceptable or not (what is newsworthy or not. An editorial image should be newsworthy.) An editorial image does not require a model release.

Would a music event or something like a PGA tournment then also be considered editorial? I have some photos I took at a recent Jimmy Buffet concert of people tailgating could those be submitted as editorial? Thanks again.

Hi Cindy,

Absolutely. All concerts and any professional sporting events are editorial in nature. I will contact you directly about this soon.

Hi! I'm really interested to try this program, but I still have to submit my first 10 pictures in SS. Could I use the red carpet program for my first 10 shoot anyway? Or do I need to wait for some "normal" pictures to be accepted? Thank you.

Hello misterfunk74,

Unfortunately, to apply for the Shutterstock Red Carpet Program you must already be an active Shutterstock submitter.

I would recommend you submit your first initial ten batch of images, become an active submitter and then try applying for the program.

Good luck1

After you apply for a certain event for the red carpet program, does shutterstock contact us or does the venue/event staff contact us about the press passes?
Thanks!

presspass@shutterstock.com is not working. How do you fill out a pass?

I know that SS not like exclusivity for photographers, because we must earn more and more and more.
Why Red Carpet demand exclusivity for photos?

Hello tgtg:

Since Shutterstock helps a submitter secure a press pass for an event worldwide, the two year exclusivity term is fair and reasonable.
