There is just a new issue one after another!! It has only been a few days since Lev brought it up!

My star signs image is stolen by someone who calls himself *********..

This is my image:

I found out about this by an email I received.. This is the mail I got today on my personal website:

FYI - noticed someone submitted a project on crowdspring.com using your zodiac logos, masquerading it as their own work.....

http://www.crowdspring.com/projects/website_design/icons_and_buttons/star_sign_icons/gallery/star_signs_entry_1

Just thought you should know....not sure what their intent was if they actually won the project, but right now it appears to be a clear rip off. Keep your eye on it - its probably only an issue if they win the project...
don't know what your policy is with your work.

Cheers,
*******

It looks like they are up for a contest, not sure.. This person thinks by adding the simple squares he gets the copyrights!

What is even more scary! He submits lots of images on that site! I can see that it is not only me! The guy just became a member of that site 6 days ago.. You can see it if you click on his profile! And lots of recently submitted images are there as well!

I think he submitted lots of content that belong to other people and he claims he has the copyrights..

This kind of people do need a lesson!

I googled him, found him and sent him this email:

This is a warning about your copyright theft..

http://www.shutterstock.com/pic-11371405-logo-like-zodiac-star-signs-isolated-on-a-white-background.html

Even if you purchased the image, the licence that this image is available is RF (Royalty Free) only!

This does not give you the right to claim that the image is yours! You only have the right to use it!

- You can NOT claim copyright!
- You can NOT enter contests with it!
- You can NOT win contest with it!

Even adding some fancy squares behind the star signs as seen here does NOT change this fact:

http://www.crowdspring.com/projects/website_design/icons_and_buttons/star_sign_icons/gallery/star_signs_entry_1

Remove the above image as soon as possible!

I am taking your profile here and on the other site for further investigation! I will be investigating your profile and portfolio on the other website against any other possible stolen images and copyright claims by you..

Hello cidepix,

I understand your frustration in cases like this - have you contacted Shutterstock support as well? If not, please do so at submit@shutterstock.com, providing as much detailed information as possible (which it appears you have). We take these issues seriously and will do whatever we can to help.

Thanks,

John

Have you also reported it to the site admin? He contacted me when the site first launched wanting me to join and is a really nice guy and seemed very interested in developing a quality service; I bet he'd be more than willing to help you resolve the issue as well.

Thanks John,

I did send a mail to SS via "contact us" form and gave them the link of this thread! I don't know if it directly goes to submit@shutterstock.com

I haven't got an answer yet! But I am sure they will be helpful.. Maybe I should also email a link to this thread to submit@shutterstock.com

There are some very nice and helpful fellow contributors who also sent emails to that site..

Thanks very much to them again!

Cihan, this theft has been removed from crowdSpring's website. Thank goodness someone takes notice of violation reports!

But I loved this line from the thief's proposal, "Disclosure: I created all the stuff in my entry all by myself."

That's nerve!
