Sounds good, but we need a way to add these new categories to our existing pictures then.
Just out of interest, How many searches are by category, and how many by keyword? I would have thought that most searches would be nby word.

How about Macro.

Oh...and PS. The catagory searches on the first page are not in alpha order. Is that intentional?

Locations - that would be for city shots that weren't really just of buildings, or village shots that weren't really nature? Some schemes use the word Places (and then have subcategories for city, coastline, commercial, aerial, etc.) I think the category is useful - not too fussed about what it's called.

Having some way to easily identify isolated objects - those shot on white backgrounds or with a clipping path - would be very helpful.

Other than in objects, were would money and coin, jewelery, toys, tools, clothing (gloves, hats, mittens, shoes, etc.) go? Have you considered sub-categories of objects if you won't want to add too many top level categories?

A few I'd like to see.

These all come under nature but help to seperate a very big area.
Landscape
Flowers
Trees/Plants

Also
Water, for river, lake and seaside shots
Isolated
Macro/Detail

I think sub cat would be idea. The main category could list random photos from it's subs. Select a sub to zero in on the perfect selection.

Some areas seem to be getting rather big and this might make it easier to manage, maintain and browse. The hard part seems like it would be getting all the current photos sub categorized.

Oh, forgot to say hey to everyone. Hey !

I would love to see a Special Request form!
It would be a form that the Buyers that are looking for a special Image, Idea or concept etc. could add to and we could submit the images that are requested
that way im sure there would be even more sales
this is a Great Site I am always excited to get home from work and see how much I made today on my images
(i am curious as to what they are going to be used for)
but hell they are Only Digital Images I took and since I went digitial DONT COST ME A THING TO TAKE AND UPLOAD! isnt technology great?
thanks all

A category for "Concepts" would be great. I specialize in conceptual stock.

Occupations would be a good one.

Seems like landscapes, sunsets/cloudy skies, and seascapes, all end up lumped under Nature or Backgrounds. Since (especially) clouds and skies seem to be among the most popular downloads, it might make sense to have a greater number of specialized categories (or sub-categories).

Or perhaps there's an advantage to having them lumped together and segregating only by keyword ... I guess you would have to know how many subscribers browse the galleries by category vs. keyword search only.

My $0.02

In regards to Religion, perhaps breaking it up with subs as well, one for Churches, Funerals, Cemetaries, Headstones/Markers, Etc

In regards to Nature; This cetegory will always have the most ( I think ), no model releases necessary and are the easiest to capture. So sub-categorizing in this area might help in managing from your end, and help those in search of images locate them quicker.

Adding subs such as;

Macros
Foliage
Clouds
Flowers
Water
Wildlife
Landscapes
Insects
Weather
etc
