I am going to be shooting some objects for a friend of mine , but we are going to be using halogen lamps.

What is the best way to set the WB to get my white white.

If you could help I would really appreciate it

Get your model to hold a sheet of plain white paper in the lights... take a shot where only the white paper shows, then use that as your custom balance - whatever combination of lights you're shooting under - now it's white... :-)

Cheers,

For post processing I also recommend that you have the model hold a swatch with white, medium gray, and black on it, and then take a shot of that scene. The swatch can be used to edit the curves in photoshop; therefore color correcting the photos.

There was a lot of discussion about this on DPReview. An interesting solution is to hold an ordinary coffee filter over the lens while taking a white balance reading in the lighting conditions you will be using. RAW can also be used, of course, but it is not easy to set the WB temperature and tone to reproduce correct colours from memory.
Still, I would shoot in RAW (always do) anyway, in order to be able to make final adjustments.
