A film maker in Brazil is using some of my paintings in his film and he'd like an interview on digital video. I don't have a camera that will do that, but since you now accept clips, I'm thinking that I might buy one. The aspect ratio doesn't show up in the specs at the sellers I have visited. What is the minimum size in megapixels? What cameras will work? I won't be able to upload these without high speed internet, will I? (I still have dial-up).
Any advice is welcome.

well..video cameras don't have mega pixels. The minimum pixel size for submitted footage is 640x480. To my knowledge they don't make strickly video cameras that produce a pixel ratio smaller than that. The quality comes from how many CCD chips the camera has. A nice camera will have 3CCD's. It is not required to have a 3CCD camera. I suppose it's just a matter of getting no noise with your 1CCD camera. It'll be interesting to see what gets accepted.

i'm surely no expert. I hope this was informative and correct :) ..if i'm wrong someone please correct me.

I have been submited for about 10 video footages, and today I found out that all of them are rejected.
My question: where can I find a reason of rejections?

How do you find out if they're rejected or accepted? I can't even find out...

I'm sure you will be emailed when your footage is reviewed.

Hasn't happened so far, and several clips have seemingly passed through the review process, by virtue of the numbers changing on my login screen. <shrug>

I just started to upload my first video via ftp. It's a 155 MB file, a 10 seconds quicktime movie. The estim is 5 hours. Uahhh! Uploading pictures is less then one per minute. Hope I do the right thing. If I am wrong in anyway please let me know.

The upload finished some time ago, more then a couple of hours. But there is nothing in the submitted page. It simply says "You have no videos waiting to be submitted". Filezzila says everything is allright. What might be the problem?

I reopened the Filezzila and after connecting to shutterstock in listing directory appears my file. Why does not appear in waiting to be subimtted page?

I am a PAL resident too. It was said earlier they prefer NTSC, as this is the main market, but PAL is acceptable too. Do not convert your PAL to NTSC, they will do it if necessary. As for the message regarding the aspect ratio I got an identical one too. Hope is just the system and will not be a reason for refusal.

Good luck!

New problem: uploaded footage does not show at all in the waiting to be submitted area.
