Just completed the documents and sent the ITIN application.
My expenses were 5000 armenian dram for passport translation/notarization service and 2100 for postal mail. In more known currency - I have spent 58 SS DL's (33 cent).
Hope the IRS will not find anything wrong ;-) |

Hope you get the ITIN number fast. Just one question: Rumors are that we need a signed letter from Shutterstock asking us to take these actions. Do you have such letter or just put the printed email from SS? Thanks |

Well, Zorik, did you notarize your passport with an apostille attached the Hague convention way, or just legalized by a simple notary? |

simple notary..
I already have a feeling that I was over-hurry ;-)
BTW 20$-s are not so big expense... But still there are chance that I did right ;-) |

Not to demoralize you, but after seeing how the thread in the forum has grown (almost 3000 messages in a couple of days!!) with a lot of question still pending, after the evasive, rude, aggressive and non-informative responses from SS, and all the mess and confusion generated, I will better stay in front of my computer till the next week and see what happens. It's not only you can loose 20 bucks, the drama comes if you receive a response from the US in -say 10 weeks- telling you that your submission was not accepted and that you have to repeat all the procedure once again. Take me the right way, I hope you receive the silly number soon :-) |

If its been notarised by a 'foreign' notary (ie not a US one), i think it would need to be apostilled by your foreign office or equivalent (if in the Hague Convention) or by the Issuing Authority of the passport (if not in Hague convention). |

I just went to the post-office ( it is 300 meters from home ) and asked the people to hold may letter ( it was still there ) a day - to see what clarifications we will get today. So things are not so bad ;-) . Hope tomorrow morning I'll know what to do with the letter - send it or not.. |
