Hi all,

For box 'H' of the W7 form, here are the treaty article numbers, along with the percentage withholdings:

Next to checked box H, we write Exepmption 1(d), right?

Hi tonic,

No - 1(d) refers to the exceptions listed on page 6 of the W7 instructions.

For box H, you should provide your country's treaty number - for Greece, that would be 7.

I know the chart I pasted above is a little hard to read at the moment - we're in the process of updating it as a grid.

For now, the number following the country name is the treaty number. Please note that in some cases, it is followed by another number in parentheses. This is still part of the treaty number.

Are you sure that Treaty Article Number for Canada is 12(2)?
I found at IRS website that Article 7 is for Canadians having Business Income in US...

Article 12(2) covers Royalties, not wages. You receive Royalties from SS not wages so yes.

Sorry if I get tiresome but you mean that I check boxes A and H, but I don't write anything next to the H box, and then I just fill in the Treaty Country (Greece) and the Treaty Article Number (7) in the spaces below box H?
Because the form mentions that the treaty country and the article number are additional information for boxes A and F. They don't seem to have anything to do with box H.

I repeat my question: Do I write anything on the space to the right of box H??? (At that spot the form says "other(see instructions)" and then it has a large space to fill in).

Please let me know as I am trying to get my paperwork together. I was short of certain that I have to write one of the exeption numbers found in page 6 of the instructions.

Thank you!!!

I mentioned this on another thread as well but could someone possibly upload an example of a correctly filled out W-7 Form (for a fictitious person of course!)
That would make it a bit easier, the instructions aren't very easy to follow. I think if we don't have this then a lot of people are going to have their applications rejected for mistakes in filling out this form

Yeah, that's right, that's what I want to do, may I do it in another thread, just asking about procedural how to fill it. I am worst at doing this kind of things.

On the dotted line next to Box H you would write: Exception 1d-Royalties

spectruminfo thanks. That is what I said in my first post in this thread, but mackin said no in the following post. Thus the confusion...

So the final answer is "Exeption 1d - royalties", right? mackin?

I apologize, tonic - you do write "Exeption 1(d) - royalties" on the line. I thought you meant writing in 1(d) as the treaty number.

So do we still wait for shutterstock to confirm if their original email is sufficient to supply with W-7 form or is it ok to send that letter as is?

Thanks

The latest update I received from SS says that we should wait. They will notify us when all the info has been gathered.
