Hi

I have a d70s I use to trigger a sb-600 through the built in flash (CLS/preflash). What do you think of these options for also triggering a sb-24?

* Optical slave which ignores the preflashes (not sure if it works in practice)
* PC sync inserted in the hot shoe + cord connected to sb-24 (not sure the hot shoe is triggered when the internal flash is used. Even if that would be the case not sure the pc sync triggers at the right time i.e. not with the preflashes but the main flash).
* Radio trigger connected to d70s and sb-24 (is it possible to use CLS and radio trigger at the same time)

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Doesn't exist, the preflash will set of the slave.

Works on my Fuji S2 Pro.

All strobe will go off, but you won't get any reliable results.

Don't use cls and internal flash but 2 receivers for your radio trigger and a flash meter
OR
Get some more sb600's (or 800/900) and use CLS
OR
turn preflashes off and use optical slaves and a flash meter.
OR
Use nikon cables to connect the sb600 and sb24.

Maybe there are some more options, but these things I've tried.

I used sb600 and sb800 wth cls, very practical, but now mostly use small studio strobes.

Forget the gear and tech for a moment ad look at the task.
What are you trying to light?
The task at hand will denote the required equipment.
