At picture number 24,687 my 6.2mp Rebel 300 broke. [have 4yr service contract]
For abt a month the first picture of the day got an Error99.
Now all pictures come out black.
I tried:
Lens cap off, :)
Left w/o battery overnight,
Cleaned the contacts.
Anybody has the same problem?
Sam. |

Your shutter could be busted.
Try doing a sensor clean or long exposure with the lens off, and see if you can see your sensor or not. |

Thanks.
When i click, the miror mooves up but the curtain does not moove to the side so the shutter must be busted.
I am going on a 2wk road trip Miami, FL to NJ/NY. so I am looking for an emergency camera because Best Buy won't fix it so quick.
Reading about the XT, XTi;
I dont like those two because:
Too light and small, I like heavy cameras.
I plan on getting the EF 70-200 f2.8L IS USM lense.
I read the XTi has more noise.
I might get the same old original 6.2mp Rebel. $1000 ÷ by 24,684 shots comes out to abt 4¢ per picture. |

I hear the XTi/XT with the battery grip feels much better. Your pinky won't "fall off" and the weight's better.
Saying that, I decided against the XT when I upgraded from my 300D - wanted the rear dial of the "higher end" cameras. |
