I was unable to get an answer to this question in another forum, so I will give it a try here. A reply or referal to an appropriate thread would be appreciated.
Shutterstock guidelines state that "submissions must be wholly owned by the submitter" and that "found or public domain images cannot be submitted under any circumstances." Fine, but what are the regulations when it comes to using an image drawing package like CorelDraw that comes with thousands of prepackaged clipart images?
Let’s take an example. I want to submit an image of a man working in a garden. So I use CorelDraw and draw a garden surrounded by a lawn. Then I take some of the prepackaged clipart images of flowers that come with CorelDraw and put those flowers in the garden. I also use one of CorelDraw’s clipart images of a man and put that in the garden. I now have an image of a man surrounded by flowers in a garden that is my own creation, but I used some CorelDraw clipart to create it.
Would such an image be acceptable to Shutterstock, or would it be considered a violation of SS policy?
Thank you. |
