I just got a Mac. Love it. But I've got a question. When I was using a PC, I used the fantastic program Keyword Editor, made by Deep Perspective. It's only available for the PC, so I wonder what similar program is available for the Mac. What are you Mac users using? I'm really glad to be using a Mac, but mourn the loss of some programs, and I hope I can come up with an alternative like the one made by Deep Perspective.
(By the way, I think I first heard about that program on one of these forums).
I'd sure appreciate any help in this regard. |

Are you saying that there is a program that will keyword images for me?
This is what I do now:
I work on a iMac G5 with Photoshop CS. I only shoot landscapes on film and enter the keywords under File > File Info in Photoshop. I made a master list of keywords and entered them under File > File Info, then I saved the File Info as an action in Photoshop. When I am working on an image I run the action to get the keywords into the file. Then I go to File > File Info to add and subtract specific keywords. |

That sounds like it works just fine. Everyone has their own way. The keywords program from Deep Perspective is really handy because it has some great time-saving features that I really like.
1. Keeps a running total of keyword count
2. Spell checker
3. Deletes duplicate words
4. Saves lists so you can quickly apply the same list to other images
It's a great program, and inexpensive, but like I said, it's only available on PC. There's got to be something for a Mac. I just don't know what. The workflow seems great, but is not as flexible if you have a lot of different subject matter, rather than landscapes. |

I use Graphic Converter for my keywording. It has a browser that makes it easy to copy/paste keywords, or to apply them to a set of photos in one go. |

It may be a long way around and expensive option but the new intel macs can run windows as fast as any equivalent PC by using either bootcamp (free download from Apple' or you could buy Parallels Desktop which is more flexible.
of course you then need to buy a copy of windows to install but you could run your original program and any other windows programs. |

Graphic Converter here too. It does a ton of workflow and batching stuff. I think they still offer a free version, but last I checked, even the full registration was something like ten bucks.

I just looked... The full-blown registered version is $34.95. I always remember having the demo way back and it did just about everything anyway.

You could also try something like ProStockMaster, which not only makes keywording quite easy, but also has an ftp function so you can upload your files to several sites at once. |

Yes, I have been using the demo version of ProStockMaster for some time now. It has the same functionality as the full version, but you are limited to uploading 5 files per day, which is plenty for me at the moment. |

my assistant uploading 15 files per day

that's only for the demo version though. if you pay for the full version, it allows unlimited files. |
