Why have my earnings been adjusted?

Prior to issuing payments, Shutterstock may remove earnings associated with fraudulent downloads or incorrect calculations

Updated over 7 months ago

On a rare occasion, we may need to remove earnings that were incorrectly calculated or generated due to fraudulent activity. If an earning was incorrectly calculated, we may adjust the amount that was reflected in your earnings summary without affecting the total number of downloads.

If we identify downloads generated with a stolen credit card or made from a customer account that was compromised, we will issue refunds to the affected user account. In this case, both the earnings and downloads that were generated due to fraudulent activity will be removed from the contributor’s earning summary.

All earnings adjustments are executed before monthly payments are calculated and issued. If your earnings were adjusted, you will see a notification regarding the adjustment on your contributor account dashboard.
