Why do I need to enter the reCAPTCHA code when I log in?

Shutterstock employs a security code at log in to protect your account and to prevent site downtime due to malicious internet bots. The security code is the reCAPTCHA verification from Google.

In most cases it isn't actually a code, but rather a box that you need to check off next to the words "I am not a robot". Make sure to wait until the check mark appears before proceeding. If additional verification is required, you will be asked to select similar images from a grouping of pictures.

If you do not see a reCAPTCHA code at all or receive the message "Invalid security code. Please try again.", there may be a Trojan virus or malware on your computer. In these instances we recommend you update your anti-virus software and further research this issue with Google. You may also want try and contact the reCAPTCHA help desk.
