We Recommend

  • Meticulously clean the scanner bed before each scan

  • Always place the artwork completely flat on the scanner bed, squaring the edges

  • Gently but thoroughly spray negatives and slides with canned air before scanning

  • To remove smudges, fingerprints, or mold from negatives or slides, use a gentle cloth and non-abrasive cleaner such as isopropyl alcohol

  • Always check before cleaning film, slides or illustrations that the products being used will not damage the film emulsion, canvas, or surface of the artwork

  • Crop the scanned artwork to the edge of the photo frame or flush with the canvas

  • Wear white, lintless gloves when handling artwork of all mediums to avoid leaving fingerprints, smudges, dirt, or damaging oils from hands

  • Store film, negatives, and artwork in cool, dry places a minimum of 6 in (15.25 cm) off the ground

  • Always store artwork in acid-free, archival-quality containers and sleeves
