Marketplace Overview

Shutterstock’s marketplace includes two main categories of content:

  • Creative Licensing: Traditional stock content intended for creative commercial or editorial use.

  • Data Licensing: Content intended for customers who are training computer vision models. Learn more about data licensing here

Submission Review Process

All photo and video submissions must go through a series of reviews to qualify for either Creative Licensing, Data Licensing, or both.

Each submission is carefully inspected for common quality issues to ensure compliance and maintain Shutterstock’s standards.

Creative Marketplace Requirements

To qualify for the Creative Marketplace, photos and videos must meet all of the quality requirements outlined here: Photo and Video Quality Requirements.

All photo and video submissions are reviewed for quality, and only those that meet Shutterstock’s requirements are accepted into the Creative Marketplace, Data Licensing, or both.
