If you wish to transfer ownership of your contributor account, please get in touch with us with the full name of the new owner and the reason for the ownership change.
If you decide to transfer your account to another person for any reason, you will not only be transferring access to the account but also the copyright to any work in your portfolio. Please note that only the original contributor can initiate the process.
What happens to the unpaid earnings in my account before transferring ownership?
Pending unpaid earnings will first need to be paid to the original account holder.
Can I sell my contributor account to another contributor?
Shutterstock does not facilitate the sale of contributor accounts. However, we can assist with account ownership transfers, or provide steps on how to combine existing Shutterstock accounts.
If an account contains approved content, the new account holder will be required to assume all previous obligations and various agreements with Shutterstock. The original account holder will have to execute an Assignment and Assumption Agreement (transfer of copyright agreement), which we are happy to provide.
All requests are reviewed and processed on a case-by-case basis. If approved, the new account holder will be required to complete a new tax form W-9 or W-8BEN, depending on the country of residence. Please note that payments will not be issued to accounts that do not have an approved tax form on file.
Please contact us, and we will guide you through the process.
