3. Releases and reference images

For commercial content that includes recognizable people or property, releases are required.

  • Model releases:

    • A release is required for each recognizable person, even if that person is yourself.

    • Download official forms: Download releases

  • Special cases:

    • For minors or mature content, you must use the downloaded version.

    • If using Easy Release (Standard Mode), signatures must be signed on a mobile or tablet screen.

    • All fields must be filled out legibly - incomplete or incorrect releases may be rejected.

    • Self-portraits: fill in details twice, as both the model and the photographer/account holder.

  • Property releases:

    • For artwork or property releases, list yourself as the contributor and property owner, and ensure the witness is a third party.

  • How to upload a release:

    • In the submission editor, click the + button next to Releases.

    • Select Upload New Release, choose the file (JPEG, max 20 MB).

    • Select the type (Model or Property) and attach it.

    • Follow the same process to attach reference images.

4. Key points to remember

  • Releases and reference images can only be attached at the submission stage. They cannot be added to content that has already been approved.

  • Multiple releases cannot be combined - upload each one separately.

  • Save completed paper releases as JPEGs before uploading.

  • All signatures must look handwritten, whether filled in by hand or digitally.
