Sometimes issues can occur when trying to register a new Shutterstock Contributor account, especially if your email address has already been used. Here’s how to resolve them.
1. “Email already exists” error
If you see this error, it usually means you may have tried to open an account before.
Go to the login screen, enter your email address, and click Reset Password.
Use this link: Reset your password
2. Reset password email
Only click Reset Password once, then wait for the email to arrive.
The email may take up to 12 hours to arrive during busy periods.
Always check your spam and junk mail folders for the message.
If the email doesn’t arrive after several hours, go back to the sign-in screen and request it again.
3. If you still can’t register
Try using a different browser or clear your cache and cookies, then restart your browser.
Make sure that cookies are enabled.
If you still can’t get the verification email, try registering with a different email address.
4. Key reminders
Always wait for the latest reset or verification email before trying again.
Multiple requests may delay the process - only request the reset once before waiting.
